Sisters car did exact same things you desribe...
Check to make sure your positive battery cable is secured properly. Tighten the bolt on the battery and make darn sure there are no burrs inside on the threads. (If there are burrs, it will feel as though the bolt IS tight)Dealers, mechanics, no one could figure this out until I leaned on the cable and noticed it moved!
