I would agree with the flashing air bag light being an indication of low voltage. The same thing happened to me for a couple of days and I had no idea what was wrong, then last week my car went dead and had to get a jump start. It turns out that the voltage regulator on my alternator had gone bad. It makes sense now, but still kind of strange because I would have been looking for the battery light to be flashing if there was a low voltage problem.
