The only reason I use syth in the engine and tranny is to take avantage of its superior flow properties in the cold winters we get here. If I lived in Vegas, I doubt I would use it in the engine, since I change at 5000kms anyway. I'd still use synth tranny fluid though since I only change it every 2 years.
