Not only that but it will throw also throw a CEL if the voltage is over 1.0v at closed throttle.


This trick is "suppose" to give you better throttle response as the TPS reaches WOT sooner. What a crock of crap in the first place!
You are talking about a change of maybe 1 tenth of a volt (TPS reads around .9v at closed throttle)
The TPS reacts much quicker then pushing your foot to the floor anyway.

The TPS ONLY is an indication to the PCM of the position of the throttle plate. It has nothing to do with nor is changed by incoming airflow!

Base TPS voltage is just used by the PCM to indicated closed throttle. It's learned at startup.
