www.autozone.com lists the Deutsch filter for $7.29. Don't know how much shipping is.

Any thoughts?
I have the Fram activated charcoal filter in my car now. I think that they did not use enough carbon to do any good. I would not go out of my way to buy one again. It doesn't control odors any better than others I have used.

Big Jim and jng, thanks. I won't bother with the Fram as it's more expensive.

I verified the autozone.com price for the Deutsch is $7.29. Why my local store's computer monitor showed $19.99 is a mystery to me. I'm gonna bring a printout of the web site price quote and see if they'll match it.

Ford charges $35 for the things. I gotta show this to our guy who's been buying them for our CEG group.

I paid $21 at closest parts store, a NAPA, but it also does not seem as well made as the filthy oem one I took out. I was just glad the close by place had one though, as I took the old one out first to be sure I was going to be able to do it. Happy to say it was easier than I expected to change it...thanks to the sensible non-standard technique of not removing wipers.

Looking forward to smelling nice fresh air tomorrow when I drive to work instead of air sented by 72,000 miles of crud.

FWIW, An Autozone near me has a note that the Deutch filter is "sell to stock is run out" (And they were out of them, FRam could be ordered for $19.99). Seems they are discontinuing them. Get em while they are hot!

Counter guy at my local AutoZone said they have the Deutsch, but not in stock, and it's $19.99, not $7.99.
