Whats up guys...

It's time for a new Cabin air filter...

I've read in some posts people saying they bought it from Autozone and Pepboys...

I went there and they told me they don't hold that kind of part.. confused

I went to the dealer then and they are asking almost $35 for it. I remember reading people buying it for like $7.

I am confused... I was checking today CarParts.com and they have listed:

* Air Cleaner Element from AC Delco for $15.52
* Pollen Air filter from Motorcraft for $27.60

Is the Air cleaner element the Cabin air filter ??

confused confused confused

Is that how AC Delco call it or this is the engine air filter ??

They don't have any description neither pics.. so I am confused here...

Any help ???

You want pollen filter for cabin, air cleaner element for engine.

I went to Advance Auto Parts and got mine for $15 I think. Do you have an Advance around you? If so, I can give you the exact part number, it's Purolator C14860. $15.99, and they also have a Fram CF8046 for $26.99. Autozone has a DEUTSCH CAF1700 for $7.99, though if it's that cheap I wouldn't trust it.

I am not sure about Advance around my area here...

I'll try to buy from them online.. wink wink

And now that u gave me part # it is easier !!

:p

It's just funny that Autozones in my area don't have the cabin filter for sale... I even went to two stores... confused

Any way... thanks again !!

The one for $7 is at Wal-Mart. Oriely's can order them for about 15 if you ask. as far as auto zone and Pep- they prolly carry them but didn't know they could order them. I never have received good service at either of those places.

You'll be surprised at what they collect, apart from dust/dirt, mine collected quite a few bugs.

I've changed mine twice in last 30k, last time a couple of months ago.

DON'T follow the replacement procedure where it says to remove wiper arms. You don't need to and besides the damn things don't want to come off anyway.

You just need to remoce the louvred black piece on the passenger side that sits between the windscreen and hood. Loosen the screw on the drivers side louver too (the screw in the center, where the two louvers meet) Getting the louvered piece out takes a little tugging & twisting but it's not too bad. When it's out you will see the filter.

Any probs...post here or pm me.

~$8 from Autozone and don't let them bs you that they don't make/stock them. They do, make them look it up on their system.

oh yeah...thanks for the tip on the Regane Gumout additive. I can't believe the difference in my car.
