I'm getting ready to put all my SVT intake stuff on, and I'm noticing a problem. The SVT cable bracket doesn't meet up with the lower right TB bolt! There at least a 1/2" gap between the bracket and the TB! The holes line up, the bracket seems to be 1/2" too short. Did anyone have a similar problem or is my bracket defective?

If you are having trouble visualizing that, I can snap a pic or two.

I had the same problem. I used a metal spacer that I found in my bicycle tool box - I bet a few thick washers or small piece of metal tubing cut to fit would work though.

OMG, Lance is actually putting that stuff on. Just for the record, how long have you had it?

Thanks for confirming, Alex.

Now to decide what to do with traction control... I would love to keep it, but I don't see a way to make it work with the existing cable without some cable splicing/fabrication. Then it's the point of no return since the cable has been cut.

If I just use the SVT throttle cable that I have, I'm not looking forward to trying to pull the existing one out of the firewall.

It's embarassing

I got the TB from Ray McNairy (who got it from Chris Reinke), so I've had that since summer 2000. The UIM has been sitting around since Oct 2001.

The SVT's use 2 threaded rod/nuts (??), and 2 bolts to fasten the TB to the manifold. The cable bracket is then fastened using a nut at the location in question.
What I am describing is the fastener at the upper left corner of the TB (when looking at it head on), there is the same fastener at the corner where the TB bracket is located, on SVT's.

I still have one of the Original Aussie Bars sitting in my basement waiting to be installed.

Actually it's 3 bolts/nuts and 1 bolt to attach the TB to the upper intake manifold.. The double ended bolts go on the two top positions and on the bottom right. The bolt goes on the bottom left. An extra nut tightens the TB bracket to the bottom right bolt.
