hey, I'm just wondering if any of you guys know of a dealership that does that dash recall. I know the recall is supposed to be over, and that's why i'm asking if anyone recently maybe got theirs done without a problem or paying anything. Thanks a lot.

Can you buy the rear ford emblem that goes on the crome strip? I broke mine.

I would think any Ford dealership can do that, just call em' up. As far as the Ford logo goes, maybe you could that Nyceboy (spelling) one. How did you break it anyways

I painted the crome strip black.. and well when i was popping the emblem out fromt he back, the screwdriver went through and cracked the end of the oval. Even though the recall is over, you still think ANY of the dealerships will do it?

Well we'll see on wednesday. I got an appointment to get the dash done, and they didn't mention anything about the dash recall being over.. so i think it will be ok. They're were nice to me on my other dash and replaced the entire thing for me. Hopefully they will do it again. My brothers svt has that big plastic piece in the front.. kinda looks bad after you notice it. oh yea, i went to village ford. Not my first choice to take it, but the closest.

When the recall was issued there were (2) fixes, one did replace the entire dash but it had to lifted a certain amount of inches, the other and more common fix was the rivet job, which is what I had done and no problems so far and its been about 1 1/2 years already

That's what I've got as well; been about a year since I got it done and it's been fine. And I honestly don't think the black strip looks all that bad; it's not like any other pieces in that tan interior match anyway... Hell, I figure if it keeps that dash from peeling up and rattling like a mofo like it was before, that's fine with me.

What is the Dash recall I never heard of it? What goes wrong? Is it for all years of SVT's?

Thanks
Josh

For 98+ contours only I think. Inside the dash, the insulations warps from what they told me. They either put a new dash in, or just fix the old one. I guess according to Mikes svt, that they have 2 different fixes. Hopefully I get the full one, not that huge plastic piece.
