A 1300rpm idle is still a little high. The Duratec generally idles at 750rpm. You could try doing the TH fix and see if that helps.

used to idle at 750 before the motor got replaced.

650 to 700 rpm, idle seemed to drop after putting in the optimized tb.

Mine idles right around 750 as well.

My tach says between 650 and 550 but according to OBD II I'm always in the 750 range. So if you think u are low you're probably not...jmho

Vacuum leak or tach error.

Idle is computer controlled. No changes outside of reprogramming the PCM will change it.


2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

not sure if i have reset the PCm since the motor swap.
haven't noticed any vacuum leaks, but i will have to do some investigating.
Ford said the idle seemed fine to them and they couldnt feel the vibration caused by the low idle.

Mine idles in the 550 range to. It also jumps up and down pretty quickly at the occasional stop light. Fiqure I'll be cleaning the IAC in the spring. Anyways at 550rpm it is a very smooth idle so I suspect that my tach is just off.


Green 96 mystique gs 4cyl mtx 16.9 in the 1/4 mile @102500 miles 95SE in Midnight Red MTX MSDS headers and y-pipe SVT exhaust SVT UIM Optimized se TB. Full pre 98 SVT body kit 15.741 @ 87.73mph :)

750 once warmed up. Verified by OBD-2 software.
