It's been going on for a while now. MTX was standard and ATXs were options, except the 5.9L engine. It had ATX.

You do know what ATX stands for don't ya?? The TX part stands for transaxle which is font wheel drive. A transmission is rear wheel, I'd hate to drive a full size front wheel drive pickup! What'd be the point????

In other words MTX and ATX are not just standard abbreviations for any vehicular shifting apparatus.....

Why don't you folks just race and find out for yourself, I don't get it. I mean I would never post a questionaire of what others think about a particular competition I'm up against. I mean, common, does it make you feel any more superior to know that you will win before hand. Isn't the whole pupose of racing to know who's the fastest, not ask others who they think is the fastest!!!!

Worst of all, imagine the shame of losing after everyones tells you, 'No Problem, you'll Takem!!'

Get to the TRACK or some safe Backroads and go find out for yourself

EXACTLY! you can either talk about it and look at numbers and try and calculate things.....or......line it up and put your foot down!!! not to mention more races are lost due to driver performance rather than vehicle performance.

However I specifically stated AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE now didn't I. As in making that the key of that statement.

Thus making your comment moot in the first place and your pointless defense of that moot point dull.

Either way you look and no matter who it is built by it's still a slushbox.

BTW - GM makes some of the best slushboxes around.

I'll be sure from now on to specify that ATX and MTX don't stand for manual transmissions or automatic transmissions, as I (and possibly others) thought. They only apply to the FWD cars. I guess we learn something new every day. Maybe I'll be safer next time if I actually waste my time typing out "automatic transmission".

Oh...and the word "gearshift" would've worked just as well. Although I applaud your abnormally extensive use of your vocabulary.
