The longer the intake the slower the throttle response and the more heatsoak. (more piping to heat & longer travel)
The longer the piping & the more bends; the more the restriction as well (less efficient - like Chris said it runs rich afterwards for a reason)

Also look at the position of the small filter.

Right in the very hot radiator wash and over & beside the hot engine & transmission.

Those are all reasons I would not recommend a Hot Air Intake setup verses a large conical filter with heatshield in the stock location.
