Yes I do disagree with that statement too. With 4K in the WRX and 4K in the Neon the neon will still win! WAKE UP! I'd hazard to guess Dodge knows more about turbos then Subaru. Dodge has made millions of turbo'd cars since the early 80's. Hell, all the guy in the SRT-4 has to do is buy a stage 3 kit that will put 300hp on the ground for him. The only race the WRX is going to win is the race to the 150ft mark.
Now back to your 300hp or "close to". So your definition of "close to" is about 92%. So I could say my 15.4 is "close to" a 14.2? What are you thinking? Remeber, it will take the WRX a whole lot more chp to beat the Neon since the AWD system is eating up, NO LESS THEN, 26% of its horsepower unlike the Neon's FWD system that is only losing 15-17% (this is an estimation since the Neon stock is dynoing at 220whp).
