I don't know about that. With a little more than $1,000 the WRX can put down close to 300hp. With 4K it would blow the SRT-4 away....assuming it was stock anyhow

Sure they can...that is why they dyno stock at only 170-180hp on the ground... I highly doubt they can put down 120 more whp for only $1000.

First of all he said HP not WHP. So 227-300 HP is not all that impostible with $1000. Just remember when ya have boost, mods seem to be doubled when aplied to a car. Boost is the multplier.

Actually he said "can put down" which I took to read "on the ground". Second there is still no way in hell for $1000 you're going to get 73chp unless you're going to run nitrous. I seriously challenge you to show me this.

Both cars run pretty close 1/4 mile times and I'd like to see the SRT-4 with a set of BFG drag radials on it, to make it a bit more fair, if thats possible

Even if it isn't on drag radials at least let it get some aftermarket wheels with a little bit a rubber on them. If you think our cars are hard to get off the line with 215's, think about what it is like getting the torque monster SRT-4 off the line with 205's.

Not really.. Stock WRXs are 14.3-14.5s cars.. Even with teh slew of modded cars on i-club, you rarely see a 12s slip. Now consider the fact that there are a slew of BRAND NEW (one with 200 miles!) SRT-4s that have laid down 13.9-14.0 runs! Throw in the Stage 3 kit that takes the car up to 300HP, and watch out.

stock non-sti WRXs run ~14.2 with a good 5300 rpm launch. The awd gets them out of the hole quick, but sucks the power on the top end. I'm sure both of them would have seen my tailights on the freeway, if I was into that kinda stuff.
