Well with any glass cover you have to worry about it being cracked by road debris 
I'm not going to say thta it can't happen but i've had mine for 2 years now and there still ok.
TIME FRAME would be about 1 month from now maybe longer.
I'd definately be interested in a pair of ion in a month or two!!!
