This is why YOU DON'T USE +4's in the Duratec! They don't work well. Get some Autolite APP764's and call it a day.

I've used 'em, they don't work as well as regular double plats.

Get Autolite plats or Motorcraft OEM.

Thats what I did this time around but listen to this story. Back like a year ago I did a search instead of asking what the best plugs were. I must have set my search to the beginning of time because people were actually talking about how good the bosch 4's were. I didn't search through the rest of topics and look what it got me. Well anyway I have a nice set of motorcrafts in there now so its all good.

It's a long story, but afaik +4's bad factors are contributed to the way the duratec ignition system fires it's cylinders.

Ford Technical UK states the DuraTec V6 engine should have its plugs replaced at 60,000 but since I have just done my UIM and LIM I thought it would be a good and easy way to do them..

I don't think those are any good either. I think the Autolite APP764s even have a dollar rebate each right now.

Nope, nothing by Bosch seems to work well in the Duratec. Even the regular platinums by them are problematic.

Take those back and get the Autolites!

Exactly.

Actually ALL of Bosch's plug are indentical in design. The only difference between them is the +2's have 2 ground electrodes (and cost 2 times the std) and the +4's have 4 ground electrodes (and cost 3 times the std) All plugs are considered single platinum!

There is no performance benefit of one over the other just a "theoretical" longevity aspect of having more ground electrodes to jump between as they wear out. The funny thing is the POS center electrode (another story in itself ) is only rated for ~40k miles so all the plugs will last the same length anyway.

It's 100% marketing BS!

Stick with the Autolite (APP764) or Motorcraft (AGSF32PPM) DP's and you are set.
