Wow i guess i didnt realize how many people installed the kit themselves. To all who have done it, was the work tedious but simple? Or was the process pretty involved? How were the provided directions?

Having an extra set of hands or two is priceless. So much easier.

My install was not tedious or hard, it was just time consuming. There are about 10 or so semi-simple things to do, but none of them take too long so you don't get bored. I used the installation manual that vortech provides on their website.

Make sure you have all parts and tools before starting. I had to make a couple trips to the hardware store in the middle of day 1 which wasted a good 2 hours.

The directions that vortech supplies are very adequate. I had no problems with them. It took me working solo about 12 hours to install it. Not working straight through, but over about 3 days. If you are resonably mechanically inclined, you should not have a problem with the install.

the mechanic that installed mine said "If I didn't use the directions it would have taken way less time and been alot easier". I looked through them and it didn't seem hard, just time consuming. If I had my honda that I have now I definately would have installed it myself, even if it did take two weeks. Then I can be sure that I wouldn't have broke both the headlights and the radiator. and the drive shaft would have been perfectly straight. I have to bring machines into tolerances under .000050" every day, the drive shaft would have been simple.

WoW! I hope the people reading this realize how tight that kind of tolerance is! It makes me wonder what kind of machine that is!??

My machines are called Dicing Saws. I calibrate these machines to seperate individual die on silicon wafers, glass or ceramic. These tools are used in the semiconductor industry. Usually when I cut silicon, dependending on the thickness of the material I use blades that are diamond impregnated nickel that can range from .0007"-.004" thick. Pretty fragile blades until you rotate them at 40,000 rpm. These machines with encoder feedback can repeat an exact index across 8" span within 1/4 micron. Pretty amazing stuff. Check out our website www.eartechnology.com You can see these machines here.

The whole assembly looked crooked after it was installled and a new mechanic i use told me we should realign it because it would fail. The new mechanic was right, unfortunately I couldn't afford to reinstall it after a 52 hr install charge. After the install, the owner of the shop told me he will never touch my car again. So basically I new this was going to happen, and yesterday was the day.

Let me tell you two weeks and 52 hrs. is nothing. The idiot who had my car had it for 5 1/2 MONTHS!!! This included the Quaiffe, Clutch, and brakes. I was overly patient. The height of my patience. I eventually got the car back and paid about half the estimated cost. They couldn't even give me my old parts! The shop changed hands in the middle of the install, what a mess!! I had to have several issues dealt with afterward, and to-this-day, do not have a chip that actually works optimally. But, it is coming, once I get the funds.

I went and saw my car today with the supercharger out. All the teeth for the spline on the supercharger are completely worn off. The shop said they keep finding crap that was done in a rush type situation. My mechanic said that it appears that the original mechanic was extremely stressed out when he was installing it. Just wanted to update you guys.
