you must have been doing some really really really really really really hard driving.
Ive had my car since 45k and now it has 170K on it and still havent replaced the belt but once at 30K from the previous owner with a stock replacement, I should probably get that changed tho.. even tho it still looks good...

Wow that sucks man. You only got 18K out of the belt? I hope it doesn't set you back too much to get it fixed.

you musta been driving it really badly and not maintaining it properly, or installed wrong..
better?

I drive it like a MTX should be driven!!!!! haha, jk.  It's more that the dealership couldn't and won't fix the timing belt slapping on the cover(lawsuit going through). Update: Timing belt and tensioner fixed, engine runs like crap and pops once in awhile in the engine but doesnt come out of the exhaust. So I just shut off the engine and left the car parked in the middle of the dealership's lot!!!!! Total so far $440

Ok, here is the UPDATE!!!!! The car is now waiting for spark plugs, because supposedly I foulled them out. SO now they had to order them, well they want to keep their stock up.
But I don't care I just am driving the loaner car Taurus 3.0L(i better not tell the duratec guys).

The enigne is not a "non interferance". When it goes it can do quite the damage. Seen 2 now that have took over a grand to repair when the belts went.
