Sorry, Dave. You're the one who's wrong. I have factory T/C on my Mystique, and I just floored it on ice tonight...only things that happened was the tranny upshifted, the engine slowed down, and the brakes pulsed it. Then I took off... smile That's exactly what it's supposed to do.

It's made to work just as I described above . Maybe you've got other issues going on there . Try taking it back to the dealer & see what they've got to say about it .

Actually, Contour traction control DOES work that way. The T/C system has both engine- and wheel-based torque control options, and it can use one or both based on the given situation. The ABS module supplies the wheel torque control through brake pulsing. Engine torque control uses fuel cutout, fuel-air mixture enleanment, AND spark retard to achieve the desired torque reduction requested by the T/C module.

Yes, I have T/C on my Mystique. And I can pretty much guarantee my source for this info is as reliable as it gets.

Go here. I'm posting this once in a new thread. There are at least 3 threads about this subject. I'm consolidating them hopefully.

And for those of you who think spark and fuel are not pulled. Go read the link.. I did a lot of research and I don't care to repeat myself on this one.
