The damn thing now has Traction Controll... Driving me f#$#ing nuts. The only way to turn it off is to pull the ABS fuse. And well as my latest run at the AutoX says.. I need the ABS..
So.. where do I get the damn button for the dash to turn this crap off.
Ohh it's completely annoying on the street too. The traction control interrupts spark.. sounds like the thing is running like crap.
How to fix??????? Please.. help on this one is much appreciated... I sure as heck don't want to go to spring zing on gingerman.. either without ABS or with this traction control junk on.
Thanks ahead of time.

Click here There's a topic on General Mods about some of the SVT's possibly having an option for Traction Control...and a possible way to control it.

The traction control shouldn't be interrupting your spark . It operates the ABS at the spinning wheel , cuts the throttle while lifting the gas pedal or a combination of BOTH , depending on your speed . Maybe you've got another problem ?!?!

Allen.. believe me.. when it starts sputtering.. it's interrupting my spark. And the "Traction Control" light is lit.. yeah.. that would be it.
I can recognize these symptoms when I see them.
Tell you what.. I'll let you drive it at Spring Zing Allen. And you can tell me then it's not the spark.

I'm not saying that you don't know when you have a misfire (either by TC or otherwise) . It's just that the Contour's traction control isn't supposed to work that way . Trust me . It's made to work just as I described above . Maybe you've got other issues going on there . Try taking it back to the dealer & see what they've got to say about it .

Allen.. sorry your wrong.
I've done quite a bit of research.. I'll be posting the whole story when I get a chance. I'm too tired to do so now.

No sparkus interruptus - ABS and throttle control only, according to '97 Ford Service Manual.
There, my vote is in and I don't even have t/c.
