As for 'leaving' Saddam in power.....I don't remember the 'law' that was instituted I believe in the 70s about removing the Head of a Goverment was made
illegal thus it wasn't done....
People keep looking to the past and don't realize Bush Jr is trying to set things straight NOW....is it too late? I bet once you Canadians (not meaning to generalize but am) are attacked on your own land you would act different. If you didn't have your Big Brother the US of A to the south it would be a whole different game.
