Oh yeah, they can't!!!
How can ANYONE morally and coherently defend that situation?
agreed.
i did watch a few interviews of Iraqis living in the US and UK who fled the country and are waiting for Saddam's death as an invitation to return home.

Thanks to the media too, there is a GREAT hatred of the French for no other reason than that they disagree with the US. The whys and wherefores are not taken into account much, just that they don't want a war and so are 'gutless'. This is going to irrepairably damage French-US relations for generations.
I've always hated the French. The women have hairy armpits, as a whole they are a rude people, and they are lazy. My company that I work for is owned by the French, and they take the entire month of August off, lazy punks. I lived in switzerland and went to school in France for 6 months, and I still hate them.

I think everybody knows it's about the oil for a major part, I think it's pretty obvious that some of it is 'settling a score' for the '91 Gulf War.
I'm going to lose it, its not about oil, venezuela still produces more than iraq and they're in a problem we could probably fix, why arent we smartass? why didnt we take over the iraqi oil fields after the first golf war smartass? we were half way to [censored] baghdad in 100 goddamn hours.
The guys a royal piece of shyte, he needs to die, and i'm happy that our boys are going to take care of that need for him.
Rabbit, the world has changed just a spot since world war 2, the un is already ineffective (ruwanda, kosovo come to mind in the recent past), the peacemongers are appeasers just like europe of the 30's its undeniable, hell did u see my link earlier, french companies are still selling saddam [censored] weapons! The only difference between the late 1930's and today is that the Americans, Brit's and Spanish are the only countries with leadership and vision to understand that history always trys to repeat itself and is destined to should we not heed its lessons.
the lesson for today: when the trash starts to stink kick it to the curb.

What some people fail to realize when mentioning U.S. isolationism in the 30's is the reason why??? How about WWI, the Great War. Americans were horrified of what happened during that war and the stories the soldiers brought home solidified that. We went over and ended a European war. Do you really think we wanted to do it again. NO WAY. So before people start bashing the U.S. for its policies, think of why we were that way at that time.

The ultimate goal is far beyond just booting Saddam. The ultimate goal is essentially change the face of the Middle East...to see the extremists and the unpredictable and the terror groups be removed from power and influence and replaced by moderate/progressive leadership that prefers civil, upfront, modern relations over aggressive, demonizing gamesmanship.
The model for this is post-WWII Europe and Japan under the Marshall Plan. The victors help rebuild the defeated society, break out the harmful (Nazi/fascist) elements, and show all the parties involved that peace and mutual respect can work and benefit everyone. In the Mid-East, you only have to look at nations like Kuwait, Jordan, or the UAE to see that it CAN work. But Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Palestine in particular are standing in the way. I think the Saudis are in the way a little bit, too, but that's a complex relationship under any circumstances.
But those who refuse to listen just won't get it.

I agree partly. The Marshall plan was effective in Japan and Western Europe. Where it failed was Eastern Europe and especially East Germany. The only reason the National Socialists stayed down in the east is because of Big Red's brute force.
