I concur. However, I also know that France has played politics against the US for a long damn time. They've got their own interests, they've got their own nukes, they've got their own arms dealers who're generally competing directly against US companies for business. France allied itself with the US only because they wouldn't be able to beat back the Soviet machine without our help if the Cold War turned hot.
