All of the catalytic converters in my 95 SE w/71k miles were replaced at the dealer yesterday. That's the second replacement; first was around 40k miles.
Forgive my ignorance, but is there any reason why I should change the engine oil and filter? The cats were plugged really bad (car was running horrible for at several months, probably due to the cats) and I don't know if this could somehow affect the engine oil. I don't mind changing oil & filter out if it's a good safety precaution, but it's $20 worth of pretty new Mobil 1 oil in there so I don't want to change it if there's no reason to.
Any other smart maintenance items I might do at this point to undo damage done by the plugged cats?
