Never buy a Porsche hoping to recover your costs on it.. Heck, my car is worth at most 50% of what I paid for it, and it's only a 99 with 17K miles on it!
That said, the newer models really don't have mechanical problems, you're just fighting steep depreciation. It did blow my mind to find out yesterday that the passenger-side windshield wiper blade is special, and costs $38 to replace!

NO WAY! not even worth looking at unless you want to use that metal for a scultpure. $250 for that much metal is a good deal. but sadly it'll never be a car again.
LOL! i just had an idea... buy it, put it through the crusher to make a nice even cube of metal, get a flat piece of glass, and reuse it as a coffee table. you can tell all your friends that you own a porsche and when they ask where it is you say, "your beer's resting on it!"
alternatively you could sell it to an art gallery or to someone on eBay as a Porsche coffee table sculpture for a grand....

That Porche is worth it's weight in "Fire Damaged" steel!
Bet there not one bit of aluminum left in that thing.

I wouldn't mind the 914 in the background...my wife used to have one of those, that same sick orange color.
