meanwhile, i cant say for the exhaust leak but i do remember back when i had my gti 16v and the cat started failing...it would bog down when broken pieces internally would clog up the path of the exhaust...then the pieces would dislodge and the car would take off
if u stood behind the car with someone revving it, u could see the small particles of catalytic material shooting out the pipe
