when I was driving home from work I popped in a CD and it played for two seconds and then it stopped. I look to see what happened and the radio was off. I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't come on. Then I noticed that the clock, dome light, and power mirriors weren't working either. I checked all the fuses and the work fine. What is the problem? Also I would like to know where the circuit braekers are located. confused frown

Fuses and relays are under the dash and in the engine compartment, next to the battery. Not familiar with any circuit breakers?? Probably one of the fuses, but I don't have my owners or Haynes manual to look up which one right now.

Sounds like the system is loosing power. Mine did the same thing right before the car died. It was due to the positive wiring terminal on the battery being completely corroded away. The battery didn't charge as a result.

I am just working through this exact problem with my 96 tour. First thing to check is the fuse. In my case, the fuse slot was strectched, take a new fuse and bend the tabs aways from each other and replace it. If you get power back you are ok. However if the fuse continues to blow, you have a short. I narrowed the short down to my dome light, every time I repalced a fuse it would pop, but when I unnplugged the dome light line from the fuse box, it would no longer blow. SO now I am left with everything working fine except for my dome/map light. This problem can be caused by a short in anything on that circuit.
Let me know what you find.
