Unless your rotors are scored bad, warped, or have bad pits of grooves...then they don't need to be turned. Turning a rotor will cause it to break down and warp faster. When your caliper is removed, sand down the rotor surface by hand, in small, circular motions. This is just to remove any tiny imperfections and dust.
I went through three sets of pads on my Eclipse without turning my rotors, on thw third set of pads on my Wifes Mirage, and second set on my Cougar, with out turning the rotors once.
