Hey all,

I'm looking to get my wife some tunes in her protege and WOuld LOVE some help choosing a nice mono Sub amp. We're shooting for a single 10 or 12 in a sealed enclosure. What are your favorites (amps) in this category? WOuld like to spend less than 300 on the amp. I know this is limiting.
I like the really efficient CLass D and whatever the heck else is new these days. I want her charging system to last with absolutely no DImming at normal operating volumes.
traditional amps will also be considered, just worried about amperage draw in her little car.

YOur suggestions are appriciated.

Thanks,

Chris S.

Chris, my Rockfard 250m is a pretty nice little amp, I am not sure about the exact specs, but it pushes those 10's pretty well , plus it has the remote gain. Just a thought , they are online for 170. Good luck!!!

Well the JBL mono amps are great and cheap.

www.IKESOUND.com JBL 600.1 for 195 (300x1@4ohm), JBL 1200.1 for 275 (600x1@4ohm)

That price includes a warranty and free shipping.

Why not go with a JBL 600.1 and then get wiring and a cap from knuconepts, that will total around 300

I absolutely loved my new alpine v-12 class d amp. I got it off of ebay for 300 bucks. Too bad I moved 2 months later and sold the entire system. But man, I loved that amp. Probably too much power for what your trying to do. I was powering 2 Diamond M5's 12" subs with no problem

JBL BP600.1 is the best value. Skip the cap. If you need anything, it would be a better battery. But 300w on the stock setup is not a problem.
