96BlackSE, I deleted my post bashing you because I thought it was better placed in the "Group Buys" forum. If you want to know what I think of your harassing this vendor you can read it there. Get a life!

Yes stealing another person's hard work and R&D is very lame. It's not the first time though...
However it's even lamer to copy the exact same flaw in the Y-pipe as the MSDS unit. Heck the V-bend in the SS unit is even worse then the MSDS unit.
That alone shows they put absolutely no thought or effort into making these besides copying the other units.
BTW - bare SS (it isn't coated right?) definitely does not retain as much heat as coated mild steel. That equates to hotter underhood temps, hotter oil temps, and more exhaust energy lost (less scavenging effect)
Also if you are thinking about wrapping it. T304 SS does not take very well to it. (I.E. cracks!)
Yes it may "technically" be other "choice" but for the same price you can support the original designer.
My opinion, but then again I am free to voice it.
BTW - What type of warranty does your company offer with the headers?
That's another very important thing for everyone to think about...

Also, for those interested Marty now has larger bore headers done up and available. He custom bent me a set of 1.75" headers for my beast in nickel plated stainless. He bent up some extra sets while he was at it, so if anyone wants something with even more flow you can contact Marty at MSDS.

Guys, the headers are copies of the MSDS set. We all know that. James is still bringing to market another choice for our Contours, forcing some competition to other vendors. It's called free enterprize. It's a good thing. Marty has been good to us in the past, but so has James. Either vendor is a good choice. Either header is a good choice. Leave it at that.

Actually, since SS is a poorer conductor than mild steel, wouldn't it help the underhood temps issue? Why do you think All-clad sandwiches aluminum between SS sheets for its pots and pans, but makes the handles out of solid SS?
I might be worried that SS is more brittle, but the heat management issue should take care of itself. And since the MSDS units have been prone to rust for some people, it seems that even an unimproved SS knockoff would be, well, an improvement.
Function before fashion.

I agree, but AutumnOrange chose to go this route. We can try to limit these posts to "technical" and the other forum to "sales."
Or just not worry about it at all (thats my choice!).
P.S. I did delete a long previous post here for that very reason.

Nuff said!! Everyone wants parts, then rip on them as soon as they're available. Then people wonder why there isn't more available. Hmmm?!?!?!?
