I'm calling BS, not that it matters w/o warranty.

I spend plenty of time at/near 7000 RPM without any problem to speak of. Just ask my 65 timeslips from last year. And I'll be spending the day at high revs on Saturday.

I 2nd that motion! Stock valve train is good for 8K rpm and valves will start to float at about 8.3k.

Check the compression and if you deicded to mismantle the engine, have the head pressure tested for cracks.

I tried to argue the RPM thing to Ford until I was blue in the face. Now I'm taking legal action. My attorny is trying to dig up doc's to confirm the 8000RPM limit. I believe I have a good chance to get them to reimburse me for part of the repairs. Anyway I still have compression, now I have to tear down the motor to look for signs of damage. I just hope the heads are the problem seeing as how that is the only thing that has a warranty.
