Ahhh... the pre-98 clock...
My solution was very elegant. I pulled the bulb out of the plastic base, clipped the bulb wires off and put the metal bits back on the base. I then fashioned up a 5mm LED with resistor attached into the base. It acts just like before when the bulb was in there. I'll post a pic when I get home. You obviously have to pay attention to polarity!
The real trick is getting the lighting completely even -- if you don't do something about it, each of the clock digits are unevenly lit. Cutting the tip off of the LED helps, but doesn't cure it completely. I glued a piece of paper on the end of the LED and voila! Completely perfect even light from each digit on the clock.
For my other lights on the dash, the trick to making the lighting even was gluing a piece of wax paper on the end. It is amazing how well it works!

Bastard guy!!!!
I am working on the sunroof today or tomorrow, and the clock I didn't want to mess with the lighting but now that you gave me a idea of how to do it, won't take long at all. Did you do the fog light indicator, I wanna know how yours turned out, up some pics of everything.

haha slow poke, I got hvac footwells, dome light and trunk done, blue (bought blue bulbs but aren't to bright gonna re do them with LEDs, also, Sending out LEDs, 500 more going out.
Hey Lance, I did my clock, looks great. Love seeing that blue, I used a whole bunch from a piece of paper and used rubber cement and stuck it on the end of a sanded down 5mm led. Worked great. But its a little dim. Lucky the second time I did it the background didn't light up a dark blue color, so now you see all black and just the blue lettering.
As for the sun/moon roof, I don't think to many people have done it. And if they say they did they probly lied about it. This is how the pre98's are wired (don't know about post98). There is a switch with no prongs to hook up a LED, so you first must go to a junk yard and find a switch, also taking the harness out that is attached to it. Cause the original sun/moon harness has no prongs for the new switch to have a LED installed. So now you gotta wire the new harness in. Then this is how it went for me. didn't realize there is no light up top that turns on when you turn your lights, so why now I found out I need to run a wire all the way to the control's. So that the sun/moon roof light will turn on. So I am attempting that tomorrow morning. I got things to do today. But tomorrow morning I will be doing the wiring.
