When ever i stop at a red light or something like that this moan starts comming from the negine. You can barely hear it, but it's there. I kinda think its comming from the steering cause if i move the wheels a little bit towards eaither side it'll go away for a few seconds, and then starts again..... its not loud or anything, but i wouldn't want it to get worse. any advise??
thanks guys
oh, by the way, its a V6 5 speed se

Do a search for "Moose" on the Problem forum. If you've got a Duratec, most likely this is the problem.

I would think that its not moosing, cause once you have been driving around for a bit, it should have stopped already... IMHO, I would say that it might have something to do with the power steering pump, I believe I read about PS pumps making a moaning noise on here somewhere before. I would try to search for problems with the PS pump, and see if that helps... -Nick

My moosing would not go away after it had "warmed up;" it would also moose while coasting down the interstate. In addition, it wouldn't moose in the morning after a cold start UNTIL I turned the steering wheel. The extra strain placed upon the engine by the power steering pump seemed to be the cause. From then on though--regardless of rpm's--it was mating season!

yeah yeah, i think it might be something to do with the power steering pump. like i said, it's not loud at all and you can only tell it's there by paying attention to it, it only happens when i stop, i get the feeling its comming form the steering.... anyways, anyone ever experienced this before? sugestions?
thanks
