I just picked up EBC Grooved & Dimpled Rotors and Bendix Titanium Brake pads. HIGHLY reccomended setup. I had some CTA rotors before (highly UNreccomended ) with EBC Greenstuff pads.

Main differences:

The EBC pads did bite a bit harder at first, but, minus that fact, the bendix titaniums are just as great. One day of dust from the EBC's is equal to about 2 weeks on the Bendix... surprised. There is basically NO dust from these bendix pads. Just thought you guys would like to know.

Peace!

I had no luck with EBC pads. Dusted like crazy, wore fast, crumbled off the backing plates.....eww!

I tried several different brake pads...and the Titanium Bendix are just great! Low dusting...progressive bite...good pedal feel. And low price

Part number? I see they are listed w/sensor and without...I have a 2000 SE Sport w/o ABS or traction control...does it matter? w/sensor is $68 while w/o is $38. I need some low dust pads!

I got the Bendix pads from Stazi the Aussie. They are treating me good so far. Very little dusting and good stopping. Good price too!

Which rotors and why "UNreccomended?"

I got my EBC rotors from Eric @ BAT. He is a great guy to deal with. I live 1/2 hour away... so that is always a plus! They are called the "turbo groove" rotors. They are gold zincwashed (very nice finish to keep rust off of non-contact parts of the rotor), slotted and dimpled (not cross drilled - supposedly to help with structural integrity of the rotor).

The reason the other rotors are not reccomended, is that they are basically just 'stock' rotors, low quality, with some holes in them. They were broken in properly, and with just a few hard stops on them, had black heat spots all over the rotors. If anyone else notices, once this happens, you're basically S.O.L., they just keep getting worse. The pad tends to 'hydroplane' over the hot spots, which just makes the other spots even hotter. It was a terrible rotor. The new EBC rotors you can tell just from visual inspection is a much different rotor than stock, much beefier... and has withstood all of Tampa's high speed stop and go driving perfectly. Highly reccomended. Finally, no shaking of the steering wheel and unnecessary downshifting! Sweet!

I think the sensor they are talking about is for some Cougars. Some Cougars have a light on the dash (or maybe it is the upper consol) that comes on when the pads are nearly worn out.

Anyway, you don't need the sensors so get the cheaper ones. If you do end up with pads with sensors, the wires can be cliped off with wire cutters.
