I hear you on this. I would rather not use them and would love them in black if it was a must.
Have you driven on the highway with the hood yet? one of my buddies has an accord with a cf hood. he tried it without hood pins and said the hood shaked a lot on the freeway and was afraid it would fly up on him. he ended up putting on pins for the safety (their purpose anyway). some of the cf manufacturers recommend pins for that reason. not always a wannabe appearance thing.
