hehe I have this alarm... it is pretty sweet but there is one problem with it... the FM remote is very brittle... but it is a sweet system it has just about everything you could possibly want in an alarm.. one of my favs is remote start (I have mtx but still hooked it you *bad idea*)
Trollin the boards as of 9/23

How is the g4 system? would I have to buy the window rolldown modules seperately?
Thanks

yeah im from michigan and the proxy sensors are about 100 bucks, i have wanted them in for a while cuz i dont want anyone to be able to key my car and have the alarm not go off, so when i went to go look into proxy sensors, they said it was really for conv. , so the alarm goes off if a bird craps on it or wind is to hard, does anyone know if you can tone the alarm down so if your car gets touched it goes off, or does any have an alarm system without proxy sensors that set the alarm off as soon as you touch the car

I have this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-gBZnx9zZleh/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=2&g=801&I=514CG745I3&o=m&a=1&cc=01&avf=YIt goes off everytime a car with a loud exhaust goes by Also, at the last Keller's CEG meet we had in Dallas, the dude with the Contour GL that had the SVT kit installed set it off when I was parked next to him and he slammed his trunk closed, lol. I think I might have the sensitivity set a wee bit too high, but what can ya do.. Tim

Viper 790XV rocks!! I have it on my car and the range is incredible (up to 1/4 mile without Code Hopping enabled) and the LCD screen with paging notification is great. I don't know if they will install the Remote Start on yours though since it is a SVT.

for SVT amateur, how much was yours and how good is the protection, like if someone touches your car does it go off, or do you have to like open the door handle and then it will go off?

Actually, my shock sensor sensitivity is low. I think if someone touches the car and an alarm goes off that has to be one sensitive mother. My car only goes off if I forget I have the door open and arm the alarm (which when you arm and any open zones are located it automatically bypasses them till they are closed) and I shut the door the shock sensor causes the alarm to go off. Same if I open and close the glove compartment when armed. I had my sensitivity set low so that other people's systems or exhaust won't set my alarm off (like my exhaust does to other cars, especially in car garages) but if someone broke the glass or tried to tow my car the alarm would go off. But I know of other people with the same alarm that have the sensor set very high and it seems like just touching the door can cause the alarm to chirp (warn)
