Just noticed noticed your built date (mine is 07/97 for 98 Mystique LS Duratec) I've never had one ounce of a moose???? I've even removed the fender pieces and the internal deflector in the air box (which by the way has been the biggest improvement of any of the things I've tried) and have switched filters between a new Fram Tri paper and a K&N. Even cracked the secondaries last year (one turn) which helped the shortened delay/ hang return to idle, besides a touch more bottom end. I've always assumed mine was built with the corrected parts???
