that would be all to funny to watch your steering wheel float away. Anyway, My air bag light was flashing at one time too. But it was when iwas in a car accident and air bag never came out. Took it to dealer and they said i did not hit hard euongh. I find that hard to believe the whole front of my car was totaled. I flew forwarded. But, Anyway weeks after that air bag light would drive me nuts blinking all the time, dealer said it was reseting it self what do you guys think?
Dealer is clueless (ha ha, what else is new?). If the airbag light is on (flashing), the airbags are disabled due to the fault it detected. It's a "fail safe" feature, done to prevent an airbag from firing when it isn't supposed to. It is better to not have an airbag than to have one go off when you are cruising down the highway at 65 MPH. Not sure if ALL the faults act this way, but some do for sure. The flashing indicates a particular code. (This is the 2nd time today that someone said the dealer told them the airbag was "resetting" itself. Some of these dealers need more training on airbag diagnostics.)

My airbag light flashes 4 times, pauses, then 4 more times and a long pause. Can anyone tell me what this code means?
Hmm, don't see 44 on the list of codes in my 98 service manual.
