I went out today to look at car stereos, I was looking at Kenwoods (KDC-222, and KDC-2022) and then I saw the JVC KD-LX111, and the KD-LX333. These are the stereos with the El Kameleon faces, you know the ones with the knob that retracts and the controls that flip over. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with one of these. I'm just not sure if it would hold up, and the front looks too glossy. Anyone who wants to boost my stereo will take one look at that shiny face and know what it is. I'm just thinking the much cheaper Kenwood would be more durable, and more resistant to theft.
Also wanted to know if anyone that has ordered a stereo for their Contour from Crutchfield, were the directions good, and was the stereo easy to install (Snap in sleeve, plug in the harness that is wired to the stereo harness into the factory harness, and push the reciever into the sleeve) This is what they said, and it sounds easy, but is it really that simple, I know you need to crimp the reciever harness and their harness together, but they make it seem too easy, and I just want to make sure that it is that easy before I start anything.
Any thoughts?
