The shop said my oil pan gasket is going bad... how much does something like this cost to get replaced? I am getting the rear valve cover gasket replaced but they say most of the oil seepage is from the oil pan gasket.

I'll do it for fitty bucks... laugh

Wouldn't spend over $100 including the gasket at the shop though.

My 95 LX also has a leaky oil pan gasket. Ford dealer quoted me $265 for the job. Unfortunately, my rig also was found to have a leaky timing chain cover as well - which the dealer said was a bigleague PIA to service. I decided to go with the "Cardboard on Garage Floor" method.

I am hoping to get 2 more years out of my rig  Still debating the oil pan change - doing it myself. Need to get the car up and assess just how difficult those two knuckle-buster bolts are to get access to.

Mine leaks too. I looked into it and the gasket was between $40 and $50. (Not dealer prices) I'm not sure how hard it would be for the install. The 40 for a gasket was enough for me to "take my time" doing the job. Any one done the fix themselves?
