I think Ray will protect our finesse players, as well as keeping some of our grittier, yet vital players (i.e. Chara) from breaking their hands on someone's forehead.
I think the leafs have done the best this trading year, but the addition of Amonte to pretty good Flyer team could prove hard on the Leafs in the first round. I still say leafs in 5 however. But they'll be five good games.
One of my favourite hockey bits was a game in Chicago. Steve Sullivan was hit and cut over the eye. A fan in one of the front rows gave him the business, pointing to his eyebrow and saying "you're cut!" with great glee. Later in the game, a puck cleared the glass and drilled the same fan over the eye. Sullivan skated over and pointed to his own eybrow and said "You're cut!" right back to him. Absolutely classic.

It sure seems like every other Eastern conference team is trying to toughen up, following the Leafs example. I don't think the Flyers can out-muscle the Leafs, but I thought the same thing about Carolina last year. It'll all come down to injuries as usual, but at least the Leafs have acquired a bit more depth this year.

He is probably sore, but fine. I believe no injury reports this time of year (i.e. Darcy Tucker's "broken shoulder" last year -- he was back in a week!). He is probably resting a little to get ready for the playoffs... ....and he'll need it with the Flyers acquiring Amonte and Leclair coming back. They looked GOOD together last night. Worried yet?  PS: Believe me, I am worried about the Rangers getting to the 8th spot  I never thought I'd say this, but GO ISLANDERS!

Philly's looking good - I don't understand how Amonte does it - he looks so freakin' awkward on the ice, but man is he a sniper! Some creative rostering might help the Leafs "slide" into a spot to face the Devils 1st round.. that would just be horrible, wouldn't it?  Rangers.... hmmmmm.... I think the jury's still out on that one, but could be frightening if they can somehow pull it together. If Slats can't get them producing, no one can! I'd like to see the Islanders in the playoffs.... just so the Leafs can beat up on 'em after they eliminate Ottawa!

The Rangers have at least a point in 6 of the last 7. That all counts, and they are stronger than before with the Carter pickup.
As for the Islanders, they traded Osgood. Hi Rick DiPietro. Welcome to the playoffs. Somehow, I don't think he is going to remind anyone of Patrick Roy from his first playoff campaign.....

As much as I love the Leafs, and as much as I want them to destroy Ottawa (or any team for that matter) if/when they face them in the playoffs, I don't think calling Ottawa a "bunch of flaming homos" gives Leaf fans in general any credibility. 
And I won't be in any shape to drive my car if (when) the Leafs win the cup!
