When i'm at a stop light the car does this thing where it stalls the RPM's drop down below the 500 line and go back up to about 1500 just to do it all over again. if i take my foot off the brake it doesn't correct itself it will just bounce foward until i step on the gas again.

For this problem i replace the MAF and Air box Sensors but i still need to replace the Clynder shape sensor that connects directly into the engine.

Next, i was parked in front of my girl's house for about 15 min. When i tried to leave i press the gas the car shut off and would not restart it would krank but not restart for about 10 min. the next day i'm going to work the same thing i was out for about 30 min. the car shuts off and won't restart for 30 min. when it does start i let it run for about 5 min. take off on the highway at about 50 miles or so the car shuts off again and wont restart.

i have it towed to ford they want $200 for diagnostic $1500 to relace the fuel pump and 2 oxygen sensors. I paid the $200 but i think they are wrong with the $1500 for repairs
i was told it could be a problem with a chip in the distributor or a bad circut.

please give me some advice anything?

my 1995 2.5l V6 with 95000 miles is all i have

I remember lots of people having similar problems in the past. Suggestions include looking at the IAC. Search Troubleshooting for the word "surging" and you should get a whole lot of hits back.

1500.00 $ ? What the hell ........Thats the price for a used running engine isnt it ? I think that quote was a little overboard by 1000.00

Yikes I didn't even pay attention to that. Even the $200 for the diagnostic is way out of line. My local dealer charges $40 for each individual problem you want diagnosed. Since you're only reporting one problem (the idle surging) $200 is ridiculous in my opinion. $1500 would be in line if you had a blown head gasket or somthing similar, but a fuel pump and O2 sensors? I'd try taking the car somewhere else from now on.

Sounds like you need to clean or replace the IAC valve.

UIM (Upper Intake Manifold) gaskets are between the upper intake and the lower intake. If you take your upper intake manifold off, the gasket will be right there where it seats onto the lower.

Check and see if you hear your fuel pump constantly running when you turn the key and it won't start. Usually a fuel pump will prime and then shut off until the car is started. I have problems with mine (fuel pump most likely), for it stays constantly running (what it sounds like) after I couldn't start it after a stall or something like that...

Could you be a little clearer on location of this device. Above posters are mentioning IAC valve which is at rear right of intake manifold (viewed from bumper).

If I understand the stalling problem above correctly, car is regularly cutting out at speed and after sitting for a short period will start. This usually indicates faulty ignition module, which on a '95 I believe is separate from the EEC/PCM and mounted on the firewall.

Unless you have CEL light on I don't see why they would be suspecting oxygen sensors.
