I just had the Coil Spring Recall performed and when driving it home, the front springs made some odd noises such as bottoming out; popping noises as though they were going to pop out (especially when making a turn, the opposite spring would make a loud pop.
I brought it back to the dealer today and they said all they could do was reposition it to fit better and maybe lubricate it.
After I picked it up it did sound a lot better. In fact, If I didn't know better, I wouldn't have known there was a problem. Did these guys just do a crappy job and fixed it the right way or did they heavely lube it to mask the noise and I'll have the problem later.
Anyone else run into this?
Thanks

I told the dealer not to install these guards, mainly because of the problems you describe.pooly designed guards. i've heard from a few people that the springs will be replaced at no charge if they break. i've never seen a front spring contact a tire so if you keep up on your car you'll be fine and just have them replaced when they break...tell them to shove these crappy guards up there a$$ and make better springs, Ford has to have the record in salt ares for the most broken springs.going back to the mid 80's..frustrating to me as a Ford fan that they can't get it right or don't care to get it right

Your spring gaurds must be heavily lubricated because everyone I've talked to has the "bottoming out" thing happen. My roommate has commented multiple times that I should remove them but I was told that it voids the extended spring waranty. Anybody know if thats true? I'd love to just get rid of the dang things.
