Fluxxmo If you ever get to the bottom of this, We all would be interested in finding out what really happened.
I think a big wrench OOPS rang the sensor's bell. After helping do mine up on the rack, it's possible My WAG!
I'm sure glad I've got my software from ALEX. But believe me It's no cake walk trying to troubleshoot. I have the Ford CD manual and it would help to have had some of the Ford training schools. Of course it's no different from the Sonet/fiber transmission equipment we had at the phone company, it's still a bear troubleshooting with all the on-line, over the phone and on site help from the vendor.
But OBD II explorer does give that extra "one up" on what's going on and with the CEG site collaboration/OJT type, we can hopefully keep from getting the shaft at the repair shops.
The informed "Car Buff."
And after trying my hand at P 0401 I can sympathize with the shops and techs, some of the troubleshooting charts can take hours extra just to get through. And if you skip ahead, "Oh I know where this is going" WRONG! This is why so many are upset with the dealers????
Several Ceg'ers have figured out/interrupted what the Ford manuals Star generation tester equals too our/Alex's Explorer".
Quite a few of you younger/more computer savvy guys seem to be able to "Oh this really means this." Thank-you Thankyou!
Sort-a-like Red Green, "We're all in this together". I'm referring to getting boned up on OBD II, but what about the new stuff coming on some of the 2003's, Mazda 6, for one "Can Protocol". A Bosch developed standard, sorta like a mini LAN inside the car??????
If I can ever afford another car I sure hope it has a Web site like this one to us help live with this insane technology. Thanks Lance!!!!
What ever happen to Kiss???
We car buffs are going to need a degree just to be car Buff's????
