All in all , the WMA feature isnt worth it NO ....nor is the MP3 addon feature , it doesnt sound as clean , i have tried the highest bitrated and have burned around 7-10 cd's for testing to ge the best sound.

Even with the Alpine media expander(supposed to put back in what the coverstion takes out) doesn't sound that great. I think i have 2 cd's that are Mp3's one has nothing but progressive and trance on it. The other is every rock song on my comp.

Its cool if your cheap and don't have Cd's but a Wav. file sounds a million times better

I had to get it in my hands first , BUT you might not even hear it , I think once you have a high end system, this is where youll see the clarity diffrence .....If you not picky Yeah it will sound GOOD to ya, if not great .....

do u think the audiocontrol hpx would help clean up the mp3's. obviously the wav's will sound better but i have so many different types of songs that having a cd with so much versatility (i.e. mp3) would come in handy.

while i'm not a fan of kenwood, i've been reading about the musickeg and i'm liking it more and more. (it can be run off a non-kenwood hu w/ an adapter)

as far as the audiocontrol HPX i would have to say no. MP3's are just missing certain information. If you convert your own MP3's and use a really high birate then they sound ok. But if your getting off the net at a normal of 128 there not up to par.

Its wierd that the Same song Converted to Wav sounds a million times better. Doesn't the Keg use MP3's?
If soo its gonna be the same as the Alpines.

You always have to remember that when you try to compress something your always gonna lose out , Try to compress a movie , loooks awful......thats why the .WAV is 40MB .they couldnt get it to sound good until they made a song that size.......and a MP3 is a .WAV compressed 11 times .

i know i know. i still want to play mp3s. so if i get a hu that doesn't play them, i'd still like the option, thats all. u guys have made some points though. something to think about.

Either way you go ,,,get the Alpine man .
