it looks just about the same as any other single din HU unless you look real close. i've had nothing but compliments on it. if you do decide to go with it, definately don't pay retail. you can get it online far cheaper

Ever Hear of eclipse? Or how about the Clarion ahh damn what the model #, the one with the dual burr brown 20bit D/A converters. The only reason i didn't get a Eclipse is that i wanted one that day. I hate waiting. The eclipse dealer was closed by the time i got out of work. As far as price i could careless. I would gladly pay 600 for a new deck. My last Eclipse was $550. I loved it alot more than i liked my Alpine.

I bought my SVT with an Eclipse head unit already in it. It's getting tossed for something else. Not that its all that bad of a unit, but I still think Alpine has better features. Biggest thing I dont like about the Eclipse units is how you can't see the display for dammit when its daylight. Plus this one skips a good bit when its cold out and I am just doing regular driving. My Alpines have never skipped....even when I am stressing the Supra to its breaking point...

I have been looking at the JVC kd-sh909 also...but I cant seem to find anywhere that has one on display I can play with..

citation, how did u get the changer to fit AND still have room for the manual and crap. doesn't it hit the black vent when u close the glovebox

since were talking alpine, (thought i'm broke now). i was set on the 7894 but the crutchfield has some new models and series out. but i think they dont look as good as the 7894. i want mp3, detachable face (not a fan of phantom face), the vdrive internal amp, folddown front for cd slot. so far i've described the 7894. do any of the new ones do this and more for same price or slighter more?

i'm looking at the catalog now. i guess i'm referring to the 9813.

ok i just compared the 7894 and 9813 on crutchfield. i guess for the same money the 9813 is better. has bassenginepro instead of plus. also reads wma files (not that use these)

the 9815 is $100 more and adds blue buttons and ipersonalize. is this really worth it?

Alpine 6 disc changers fit perfectly in the glove box in the Contours. It really doesn't require any modification. I still am able to store my manuals and extra fuses without a problem. A friend of mine has a Sony 10 Disc changer installed in his SVT glove box with no problem at all.
