The LS comes with two different Engines. The 3L V6 and a 4.2L V8.

Its acutualy a 3.9L V8 in the LS ,but who's countin! The 4.2L is fords v6 truck engine found in f-150s. Ls 3.0L swap is very involved but a very good upgrade.

There is no possible way it is remotely worth the added expense and fabrication required!
A stock 3L with just SVT cams makes more power with better power curves. Stock valvetrain is good to 8k rpm. 'nuff said!

Well put Demon, to go through all the expense of making a LS work just for direct acting buckets, versus hydralic lash adjuster valvtrain just isn't justified.
I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.

hmmmmmmmm, being a FI guy wouldnt you say that those buckets would be better for a forced induction application and the higher rpms that they could handle?

Forced induction is not necessarily a high rpm occurance!
Most engines that make more power with a turbo aren't raising the redline in order to do it. They are just cramming more air and fuel into the cylinders at the stock rpm range. The turbo is better suited for this type of upgrade. High rpms require a whole manner of improved components, valve springs, retainers, rods, etc. and is generally used to increase the power on a naturally aspirated engine. For you nay sayers, that isn't to say that people don't build high rpm turbocharged engines! Those people are usually building race cars and aren't really the subject here.

I don't recall saying that it was worth it . Sure it not for average joe looking for something easy or maybe not even for the average weekend racer but for dieharders with time and money espeicaly racers its a no brainer. Those with money looking to go past the 8k barrier this is also for them!! These people are out there and something I would do myself money permitting NUFF SAID

Wonder why all the touring racers and other "dieharders" have not switched then if it's so much superior! I'm sure cost is not an issue there.
Wonder why the M3 & S2000 use the same valvetrain setup (lash adjustors) and rev to 8k and 9k respectively just fine. Seems high rpm with better springs/retainers is fine too.
Even with a set of custom cams (setup just for high rpm) going much over 8000rpm is probably not going to garner much extended power curve in return. (you have to look at the rpm point upshifting leaves you at!)
You are far better off spending your money on more important upgrades to the engine!
