Just picked up a pair of low beams at Crappy-Tire for $12/ea. Have yet to install them yet. They're the model down from the Silverstars (according to the website) Does anyone use these? Any difference from the standard hallogens? I guess I'll know tonight...

I use them, and I like them. I've had them for about 8 months. The light is quite a bit brighter, and has a VERY slight blue tint to it. Overall, i'm impressed.
And for $11.99/each, you can't go wrong.

Well, I just tried something a little different. I got some Sylvania Cool Blues, but, instead of getting the normal 9006 bulbs, I got some 9005s, and modified them to fit in the low-beam slot, and, well, I must say, WOW! The difference is like night and day. They're SO much brighter, but they don't blind on-coming drivers. I'm impressed. Mike

I had to change out a fog light once...I can't remember which side, but I do remember getting underneath the car and saying to myself, and out loud I think "F--- Me!" ...I think I said that last night when I saw the tight space near the battery for the low beams. Ford must only hire women or girly men to do maintenance on their cars, because they're the only ones that can fit their arms in some of these places.

They are hard to get at Keith but 3hrs? I can't remember does any of your natural gas retrofit kit extend into the vicinity of the lights? That may be where your problem is. I have changed each of the bulb on my Contiques at different times and I'm sure it only would take 15 mins total. For example I just changed the fog light in the Ford parking lot that was wet so I couldn't get under the car as to avoid getting dirty. This took no more than 5 mins because I had to do it by feel. If you ever need any help with anything I'm usually in town on the weekends. Shoot me a PM and I'll give you my new numbers.

thanks for the invite, but all my lights are working now but yes, 3 hrs. The natural gas does get in the way quite abit, but I thought the space between my battery and the driver side lights was VERY small. check out my website to see pics of the engine bay.

How do you go about doing that? Is it hard? Any draw backs? Why is it that a 9005 bulb will put out more light then a 9006?

No problem. Did you ever get the CNG working again? Seems to me with the price of gas the way it is and the though of having two tank on the car to go that extra distance would make it all the more worth while.

yes I will be looking into it, but the problem is $$$. Being a student I don't have the flowage of cash. Plus I heard there was a recall on tours with the CNG. I'm not sure why mine was disconnected. In the summer I might call around and find places who know about CNG kits and see if they can test mine out. I bet for a high price they will.
