yes I think thats what he means, since he has powder coated 2.5 valve covers.

Yup! I don't see why it won't fit, but maybe there is just something that I didn't see. So, can I use the 2.5L VC's on '01+ 3L heads?

I used my 2.5L valve covers on my '01 3L heads...no problems.
