MY CEL came on and we put the code reader on and it came up as P1744. That code is the Torque Converter Clutch System Stuck in Off Position. I need help for this, im calling CEG Experts here! Thanks in advance guys!
I want to know what effects it will have on the tranny, and how to fix etc.

GREAT! I read that link you sent me and I have poor mileage, gear slamming. But thats combo of on and off. The CEL says it died off....How do I fix this? Anyone offer a brief explanation or explanation at all? I really do not want to bring this to a dealer.

If you put the ATX selector in 2nd and you can come to a stop without the engine stalling then the TC clutch isn't stuck 'on'. (Agreeing with your CEL code) At a minimum, you might want to replace (drain/flush) the ATX fluid to see if that helps. Try driving the car (easily) on an open road to see if you can feel the TC lock up. You should see/feel the tac drop about 500 RPM shortly after it goes into overdrive/4th. From my experience, TC lockup doesn't happen with OD off. Speaking of OD, is you OD light flashing?
