you can get a hole lot of power just from compresion ratio....just look at the 60's cars high comp ratios and not all that much other stuff for example 289 cobra not much done there
and by todays standards look at the ..i hait to say this .....acura type R ...it has a 10:1 ratio and puts out all kinds of HP...
